Subject: Repository Software?

I have easily tens of thousands of files from the DOS era to eventually go up on this website. Doing a few at a time is fine, but I've always wanted to find a way to quickly list them in bulk, and then go back and add in details.

Does anyone have any experience with any file repository software which would be capable of handling such a large assortment of files, and doing so in a way which allows for easy navigation, searching, and allows meta deta?

do you have ftp for this site?

cos if u do, you can upload loads of files quickly. they only then need sorting.

i dont know about searching for it though.

where did you get all the dos files from???

No, I don't have anonymous ftp turned on for this server. While that would allow me to put up a lot of files quickly, it would be a mess with a lot of files just thrown into directories.

I'm actually moving all of the content into a new application called ResourceSpace (http://www.montala.net/resourcespace.php) which will make adding new content easier, and hopefully make it easier to find.

All the DOS files I currently have came from my collection over the years, ftp sites, old cd-roms, and other internet sources. I have tens of thousands of DOS games/applications. It's just sorting through it all and getting online in an easy to browse format...
